Finally! Obama’s VP choice!
This week is the deadline for Barack Obama’s decision regarding who his vice presidential nominee will be. John McCain will also be making his VP choice soon (probably after the DNC), though less emphasis is being made on the search for his VP.
It’s rather ironic, when you think about it, that we don’t care more about McCain’s VP choice, since the Vice President is a heartbeat away from the presidency and McCain stands more of a chance of dying in office than Obama does.
Yet at the same time, I can sum up who McCain’s choice will be in just four words: youthful, white, conservative men. It backs up the “vitality of McCain” idea as well as the three Republican ideals.
But I must concede that it appears Obama’s veepers can also be summed up in four words: geographical, white, centrist men. Though the first three words described prospective VPs for many months, the last word defining gender was only just brought in at the last minute when analysts stopped talking about Kathleen Sebelius, my personal fave for the VP.
Now Obama just has to choose between: OB (Obama/Bayh, which is strange considering Indiana’s Bayh backed Hillary in the primaries and seems too desperate for the VP post), OD (Obama/Daschle, whom backed Obama as early as 2007 but would be a bad choice due to his “Washington insider” rep as well as the easy joke one can make with an “O/D” ticket) and OK (Obama/Kaine, which to me seems the most likely since the Virginian Kaine can help Obama win Virginia, Kaine backed Obama relatively early, Kaine once worked as a Catholic missionary in Honduras, an, above all, Kaine is a governor, which would defeat the “Year of the Senators” this election is turning out to be).

I wouldn’t be so sure that McCain is picking a man. He knows there’s still some sour Hillary supporters out there he can grab with the right moves.
What about Bill Richardson? I think he’d be great!
