“Everyone in Iraq likes Obama,” but disagree with his withdrawl plans
Not quite.
“Any army would love to work without any help, but let me be honest: for now, we don’t have that ability,” says al-Hiti.
The Times article also stated the opinions of other Iraqis who feel the ironic nature of their own support for Obama:
“In no way do I favor the occupation of my country, but there is a moral obligation on the Americans at this point,” said Abu Ibrahim.
It appears that in the world’s oldest region, New Politics still has a tremendous power to inspire, but Obama may need to slow his withdrawl plans due to Bush’s clusterf**k invasion and lack of an exit strategy.
