Obamania and Obamatons: Money Matters

Published by aokjunebug91 at 12:00 am under Politics Edit This

Obama’s money decisions prove him somewhat of a liar…like every winning politician before him.

Now let’s define terms:

Obamania: The undying media attention on Barack Obama, which forces him to be extremely careful since every gaffe is a huge thing. As well, Obamania (sometimes called Obamamania) puts so much focus on Barack Obama that everything McCain does is seen as a response to Obama’s actions. Overall, the saying “there’s no such thing as bad publicity” works for Obamania, as long as none of his gaffes are anything actually illegal or truly throw his character into question.

Obamaton: Copyright 2008. Word I invented to describe Obama supporters. Based off of the word “automaton,” giving the implication that Obama supporters are like robots who continue to support his campaign as if it is a never-ending program. Though I myself am an Obama supporter, I purposefully invented the unflattering and unfavorable term “Obamaton” because that is just how hardcore a lot of Obama supporters are. An Obamaton doesn’t care that Obama forsook the public money as it will help him win the election. I personally am mildly upset by it, but overall think it’s just $mart Politic$, which I will define in tomorrow’s post.

The odd thing about Obama’s funding is that he says “look at me, I’m not funded by PACs!” thinking that people will not realize that anyone who funds a politican has an agenda, and it’s VERY easy to get around campaign finance rules if you’re smart. What I really want to know is who is funding him and what their agenda is (great new vocabulary words, by the way).
