Don’t mess with Texas…or should we?

Published by aokjunebug91 at 12:00 am under Politics Edit This

Consider the facts. Barack Obama is an African American. He has an immigrant father. He was raised by a single mother. He’s lived off of food stamps. He is utilizing Cesar Chavez’s “Sí se puede.”

Could he possibly win Texas?

I still doubt it. Just on those facts alone, McCain would still be the shoo-in for such a loyally Republican state.

However…

I think there’s a possibility of Texas going Democratic in this election, but it’s an EXTREMELY slim possibility. Frankly, if I were a Texan, I would be ashamed of the way President Bush had dishonored my state by tainting the presidency and ruining foreigners’ image of America. Thanks to the idiotic self-proclaimed “decider,” stereotypes about Texas have shot up through the roof.

As well, I think that Obama simply has better Southern credentials than McCain. Won’t mean anything in the general election, you say? Well, you could be right. Hillary Clinton won Texas by a pretty wide margin. The state, overall, remains conservative.

But Texas has a way of making history: the Texan Revolution, the Lone Star Republic, its annexation to the U.S. and then Gov. Sam Houston’s plea to the state legislature against joining the Confederacy. Houston has a city named after him to this day, for his foresight and wisdom once Texas realized how bad of a decision it was to join the Confederacy after fighting for so many years to be part of the United States.

And the very fact that Democratic debates were held in Texas and were given mass media coverage combined with the fact that Democrats are registering more voters than Republicans all across the board…these two factors might, just maybe, push Texas to the Democrats, even if only for this election cycle. But if so, it will only be because of a Texan rebuke against the party of Dubya the Decider, whom has tarnished the name of the Lone Star State.

Yes, Texas will go democrat; They will be voting for John McCain.

Now, when was Obama ever on food stamps? He is not from an impoverished family.

    Hmmmm, there’s that saying of:

fool me once, shame on you,
fool me twice, shame on you,
fool me three times, shame on me

With McCain getting the tag of George Bush III, and following 2 terms of helping G.W. Bush voted in as president, one has to wonder if Texas will take the shame rather than vote for an African American.

The eyes of Texas may be on the US, but the eyes of the world are on Texas!

CNN reports Barack Obama as saying

“I wasn’t born into a lot of money. I didn’t have a trust fund. I wasn’t born into fame and fortune. I was raised by a single mother with the help of my grandparents,” he said. “My mother had to use food stamps at one point.”

Didn’t say HE was ever on them of course so it could be argued that his mother got them but he didn’t use them, but I think that if he had lied and his mother hadn’t had food stamps, then the Hillary camp would have verbally crucified him.
